  • 1931

    Shuichi Amano founds Amano Manufacturing for the express purpose of manufacturing the first domestic Time recorder and sets up a plant in Tokyo.

  • 1939

    The company is transformed into a joint-stock corporation.

  • 1942

    The headquarters are moved to the Yokohama plant site.

  • 1945

    Yokohama Equipment Corporation is establish to resume the manufacture of time recorders.

  • 1950

    Received an order for 43 time recorders from the Japanese National Railways.

  • 1951

    Signed an agency agreement for industrial cleaners with IVC Inc. of the US. (Environmental Business started.)

    Development of the Liquless drain separator is started.

  • 1952

    Liquless drain separator is released.

  • 1953

    Amano Special Equipment Corporation is establish for manufacturing liquless drain separators.

  • 1956

    Company merges with Amano Special Equipment Corporation and is renamed to Amano Special Equipment Corporation.

  • 1958

    Amano Special Equipment Corporation Suppliers Association is established. (Current Amano Suppliers Association, Tenkyo-kai)

  • 1961

    Amano listed on second section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

  • 1964

    Amano Time Systems, Inc. is established as a subsidiary in New York City, USA.

    Signed a Technical Assistance Agreement with IBM.

  • 1966

    Company is renamed to AMANO Corporation.

    Computer employment management system “ARECODATA SYSTEM” is released. ( Time Information Business started.)

  • 1967

    Amano is listed on the First section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

    Parking ticketing machine “Parking Master” is released. (Parking Business started.)

  • 1969

    The Hosoe Plant in Hosoe-cho, Shizuoka is constructed, and the manufacture of pollution-related machinery such as dust collectors and time recorders starts.

  • 1970

    Tokai Amano Co., Ltd. is established as a subsidiary and is trusted with the manufacturing responsibilities of the Hosoe Factory.

  • 1972

    Amano Europe N.V. is established as a subsidiary in Brussels, Belgium.

  • 1973

    Parking lot management equipment is released.

  • 1977

    Amano Memorial Hall is built.

    Amano wins the internationally distinguished Gold Mercury Award in Belgrade (former Yugoslavia) in praise of its high quality.

  • 1978

    Tokai Amano Corporation Suppliers Association is established. (Current Amano Hamamatsu Tenkyo-kai)

  • 1979

    Amano America Manufacturing, Inc. is established as a subsidiary in Anaheim, California. Manufacturing of time recorders and time stamps for the Americas begins.

  • 1980

    Computerized time recorder “INTERECORDER” is released.

  • 1981

    A head office Building is constructed to commemorate Amano’s 50th anniversary.

  • 1982

    Formed business alliance with Germany’s HAKO WERKE (1981) and began sales of cleaning equipment. (Clean System Business started.)

  • 1983

    Commenced production and sales of “MICRODER” (MR Series) and “ARECOM 3000” (a multi-type computer for payroll and T&A management).

  • 1985

    The sales of Pneumatic Conveyors starts.

  • 1986

    A general research and training center is established in Yokohama.

    Amano Information System corporation is established for the purpose of software development and payroll outsourcing.(A.I.S.)

    Tsukui Factory is established.

    The Amano Environmental Technology Center is opened.

    Amano Electronics Europe N.V. is established as a subsidiary in Genk, Belgium.

    Amano America Manufacturing, Inc. acquires and merges with Amano America, Inc. and is renamed to Amano Electronics of America, Inc.

  • 1990

    Amano International USA, Inc. is established in Delaware, USA for the purpose of becoming a holding company.

    Amano acquires a US company Pioneer Eclipse Corporation (manufacturer and distributor of cleaning equipment and chemicals) through the US holding company.

  • 1991

    Amano Corporation merges with subsidiary Tokai Amano Co., Ltd. Hosoe Factory is established.

    Amano acquires a US company Cincinnati Time, Inc through the US holding company.

  • 1992

    Cincinnati Time, Inc. merges with Amano Electronics of America, Inc. and is renamed to Amano Cincinnati, Inc.

    Miyakoda Factory is established in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka.

  • 1993

    Amano Cleantech Malaysia SDN. BHD. is established in Malaysia as a subsidiary.

  • 1994

    A representative office in Shanghai China and a branch office in Seoul Korea are established.

  • 1995

    An integrated production facility for dust collectors is completed in the Hosoe Factory.

    Amano International Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. is established in China as a subsidiary.

    Amano Time & Air Singapore Pte. Ltd. is established in Singapore as a subsidiary.

    Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. is established in Japan as a subsidiary.

    The Time Recorder Museum is opened within the Amano Memorial Hall.

    A.I.S. Corporation renamed to A.S.S. Corporation to expand payroll services.

    A.M.S. Corporation is established in Japan as a subsidiary.

    The Seoul branch changes its status to a subsidiary to from Amano Korea Corporation.

    ATAS Services Pte. Ltd. is established in Singapore as an affiliated company.

  • 1998

    PT. Amano Indonesia is established in Indonesia as a subsidiary.

    Tsukui Factory acquires the ISO9002 certificate.

    The Ministry of Health and Welfare officially approves of the strong Acid Electrolyzed Water Generator FW1000M as medical equipment.

    Amano Maintenance Engineering Corporation is established in Japan as a subsidiary.

    Hosoe Factory acquires the ISO9002 and the ISO14001 certificate.
